Update: Edgar Awards and Misc.

Edgar Awards and new posts

Technical difficulty has been solved thanks to Hillary at Embolden!

New items. Attended the Mystery Writers of America award dinner in NYC at the Grand Hyatt. Met Ken Follett and others there and shared the repast and ceremony with my daughter and author Bob Knightley. Great time afterwards with Bob at a pub. Also met Bruce DeSilva author of Rogue Island and Cliff Walk. He is a great raconteur of Rhode Island stories. Bruce covered the state for a news service and I remembered an anecdote or two from my days in politics which he covered with pros like Jim Teraconi and John Hackett. Will send him a Straight Pool for his RI collection. He also reviews for the Associated Press.

Been getting encouragement from a lot of people. Paula Munier, my agent at Talcott Notch, reports that Scratched is at Penguin and Sky Horse. Hope that is a break

"Reckoning" is at 40,000 word with a June 1 date for the first draft. Doable since narrative and plot have been cleaned up. Fingers crossed.

Will be speaking again, first in Providence at Hamilton House, then at Boercheron in Albany in September . Will likely do something else in Providence an Westerly during the summer.

Joined RI Authors.

Have quite a list of RI authors if a Providence Noir is on the horizon. Will be interesting.

Finally, now that the tech piece is fixed, will be letting folks know about the site.

Hope to hear from people.
